The Easee One is a wall-mounted untethered EV charger that is stylish, modern, and easy to use.
We like… the smart and sleek design, and the best-in-class app experience. We also love the interchangeable face plates which let you change the colour of the charger.
Best for… drivers who want the most modern, cutting-edge EV charger on the market, with the flexibility to use the charger in tethered or untethered mode.
What is the charger like to use?
When not in use, the Easee One looks great – it has a sleek and modern design in our opinion makes it the best-looking EV charger on sale today. This is fundamentally an untethered charge, but it is possible to lock the charging cable in place if you wish to do so, turning this into a tethered charger.
The front of the Easee One is very minimal and contains only an LED status light strip on the front. This illuminates in different colours to let you know what the charger is doing at a quick glance.
The charger doesn’t have any physical buttons – if you want these you might want to look at the Ohme ePod or Home Pro – however, the app is so good that we don’t consider this to be a problem.
What is the app like to use?
The Easee app (like the charger) is very slick and modern. It reminds us of something made by Apple – it’s super easy to use, and just works!
It’s easy to create charging schedules and routines to ensure that you always have the right amount of charge available to go about your daily business. (Of course, if you’re in a hurry you can also activate max speed charging.)
There’s also a useful overview of your energy usage (and costs) for each charging session and on an overall basis, putting all of your data at your fingertips.
The app has access control features that allow you to control who can use your charger, and setup ‘Easee Keys’ – these are like RFID keys for controlling access to the charger.
This is also where you can lock or unlock the charging cable to go from ‘untethered’ to ‘tethered’ mode.
What smart features are available?
The charger is also solar compatible – meaning that if you have solar panels you can use excess solar energy to charge your car.
